Wayne, NJ, October 22, 2018 – Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas, Inc. will highlight its UGProTM Solution, a new initiative that provides complete solutions for ultrasound guided procedures (UGP) and therapies, to physiatrists at the 2018 Annual Assembly of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), October 25-28 in Orlando. The new UGPro Solution enables MSK practitioners to expand clinical options for their patients with the latest minimally-invasive procedural technologies in regenerative medicine and robust skills-based education to provide MSK clinicians with a better way to provide care.

Attendees at AAPM&R will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of ultrasound-guided procedures at Konica Minolta’s booth. The company’s distribution agreement with HydroCision® combines the SONIMAGE® HS1 System with the TenJet® Percutaneous Tenotomy System, an all-in-one tool for needling, debridement and lavage of diseased tissue under ultrasound guidance. Attendees can learn more about Konica Minolta’s UGPLearningHubTM, which provides hands-on education and training for ultrasound-guided procedures through nationwide programs and dedicated learning centers in Anaheim, Atlanta, Chicago and the New York metropolitan area.

The company will also showcase the new SONIMAGE® MX1 portable ultrasound system, optimized for musculoskeletal (MSK), physiatry and orthopedic practices. Developed with the MSK practitioner in mind to shorten the system learning curve, SONIMAGE MX1 delivers the power, ease-of-use and portability that physicians need to make a confident and efficient diagnosis at the point-of-care and perform interventions.

Konica Minolta is sponsoring several Learning Center educational sessions on ultrasound-guided interventions and providing equipment for hands-on workshops throughout the conference. As part of AAPM&R’s faculty-led, hands-on Learning Center open to all attendees, Konica Minolta is sponsoring “Novel Bone Marrow Aspiration Technology and Concentration Combined with Precision Guided Ultrasound Applications in Ortho-Biology” and two Learning Center sessions focused on ultrasound-guided extremity nerve blocks injections and intrathecal pump refills for spasticity management.

“At Konica Minolta, we’re committed to helping physiatrists do more with ultrasound and build a more sustainable practice that delivers value to the patient and the provider,” says Joan Toth, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Konica Minolta Healthcare. “Each solution we provide for MSK imaging and minimally invasive interventions is designed to help the practitioner make confident decisions that enhance patient care and satisfaction.”
